ABOUT PROJECT
Assalammualaikum and greetings, we are a group of Worthy Walkers whose members consist of 5 people namely myself, Nur Amirah Adilah binti Jaired (Program Director), Nur Azimi bin Kalana (Secretary), Michelly Devinda bte Daimol@Jaikon (Assistant Secretary), Muhammad Nur Hafiz bin Emi Suhailee (Treasurer) and Helenzira Alvina Jamilis (Publicity).
Worthy Walkers has chosen the Bukit Harapan Therapy community in Menggatal Kota Kinabalu Sabah, to help this community get funds to meet the needs of this community. This community was founded by Datuk Anne John Keyworth or better known as 'Mama Anne'. This community has been registered as a Trustee Corporation since November 8, 1988. This community is more focused on caring for and educating special children, but it can be seen that this community also opens its doors to become a shelter for local adults or children found in street or sent by police authorities. Not only that, this community is also a shelter for mothers and children of victims of abuse. In this community it has a workforce of 12 which provides care and service 24 hours a day. In addition, this community center has 39 full-time residents. In addition, this community also providing activities and basic life skills to give its residents an atmosphere like their own home instead of like a care center. Therefore, this community is in dire need of help either financially or with basic needs to provide a comfortable care center for its residents.
With the opportunity available, Worthy Walkers took the opportunity to help provide single bed facilities and also mattresses to this community. This is because this community needs this requirement to accommodate the number of residents. After doing the scouting, Worthy Walkers needs a fund of RM 2000 to buy 3 bed frames and 3 mattresses. Therefore, Worthy Walkers takes this space to invite people to donate funds to realize this dream together.
Worthy Walkers will run this fundraising campaign for a month (30 days) which will end on 1 June 2023. Fundraising will also be done and carried out on the website https://rewards.mystartr.com.

Worthy Walkes telah memilih komuniti Bukit Harapan Therapy di Menggatal Kota Kinabalu Sabah, bagi membantu komuniti ini mendapatkan dana bagi memenuhi keperluaan komuniti ini. Komuniti ini diasaskan oleh Datuk Anne John Keyworth atau lebih dikenali sebagai 'Mama Anne'. Komuniti ini telah didaftarkan sebagai Perbadanan Pemegang Amanah sejak 8 November 1988. Komuniti ini lebih tertumpu kepada menjaga dan mendidik anak-anak istimewa namun begitu dapat dilihat komuniti ini juga membuka pintu mereka untuk menjadi tempat perlindungan bagi orang dewasa ataupun kanak-kanak tempatan yang ditemui di jalanan ataupun yang dihantar oleh pihak berkuasa polis. Bukan itu sahaja, komuniti ini turut menjadi tempat perlindungan bagi ibu-ibu dan anak-anak mangsa dera. Di komuniti ini ia mempunyai 12 orang tenaga kerja yang mana memberikan penjagaan dan perkhidmatan selama 24 jam setiap hari. Selain itu juga, pusat komuniti ini mempunyai 39 orang yang menetap sepenuh masa. Sebagai tambahan, komuniti ini juga menyediakan aktiviti dan kemahiran hidup asas bagi memberi suasana seperti rumah sendiri kepada penghuninya dan bukannya seperti pusat penjagaan. Oleh itu, komuniti ini amat memerlukan bantuan sama ada segi kewangan ataupun keperluan asas bagi menyediakan pusat penjagaan yang selesa kepada penghuninya.
Dengan peluang yang ada, Worthy Walkers mengambil peluang bagi membantu menyediakan kemudahan katil single dan juga tilam kepada komuniti ini. Hal ini kerana komuniti ini memerlukan keperluaan ini bagi menampung jumlah penghuninya. Setelah melakukan tinjuan, Worthy Walkers memerlukan dana sebanyak RM 2000 bagi membeli 3 rangka katil dan 3 tilam. Oleh itu, Worthy Walkers mengambil ruang ini untuk mengajak orang ramai menghulurkan dana untuk bersama-sama mengrealisasikan impian ini.
Worthy Walkers akan menjalankan kempen mengumpulkan dana ini selama sebulan (30 hari) yang mana akan berakhir pada 1 June 2023. Kutipan dana juga akan dilakukan dan dijalankan di dalam website https://rewards.mystartr.com.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Everything that is carried out and planned will definitely have obstacles that will come. Just like us, among the obstacles or risks faced to complete this project are:
1. The fund did not reach the target. This risk is the main risk in running this campaign. This is because if the fund does not reach the set target of RM 2000, it will cause the main objective of this crowdfunding not to be achieved. The way to overcome this risk is to try harder to do a campaign so that people know about this project and advertise to the people around them so that the amount of funds shows an increase. Not only that, we will also get funds from those who are happy to donate and make this project a success.
2. Lack of time to raise funds and conduct campaigns. Because the crowdfunding period only runs for a month, and this period is too short for Worthy Walkers to complete the campaign as they have other commitments. However, to overcome this problem, the Worthy Walkers will make sure to always have time and allocate specific time to do the campaign from time to time until the end of the period to reach the necessary funds.
3. Doubt among donors. This is not a new issue or risk when a crowdfunding project is carried out either domestically or abroad. This is said because, not everyone will put their faith in crowdfunding that is implemented, especially crowdfunding that is conducted by students because people will have a negative impression of students, especially in the flow of funds obtained. Therefore, in order to overcome this, Worthy Walkers will always provide proof of money going out and coming in by using bank statements, receipts and things that are supposed to gain the trust of donors. Not only that, all activities will be constantly updated on every Worthy Walkers social media platform.
4. Risks in the use of crowdfunding platforms. Since this project collects funds only using an online platform, it will create obstacles to get funds or reach the required funds. This is because not all levels of society are familiar with the use of the online platform that is used, which is MyStartr.com, especially the elderly and those who are not skilled in using this kind of platform. This situation will cause the target percentage of people who donate will decrease and the funds will not be reached before the end of the campaign period. However, we overcome this problem by teaching how to use this platform.
